Watch Dobaaraa Trailer: 26 Years, A Mystery And Many Unsolved Questions… Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Dobaara’ Trailer
The story is a bit complicated, that is because it is a time travel film, where the story and the characters swing between 1990 and 2021. In the nineties, 12-year-old Anay dies in a road accident on a horrific stormy night. Before his death, he sees his neighbor (Swasta Chatterjee) murdering his own wife and then destroying the clues of that murder. Twenty-five years later, it’s a stormy night again and Antara (Taapsee Pannu), a nurse, along with her husband Rahul Bhatt and daughter, recently shifted to that new home, finds herself in front of a TV set. Gets it. When she turns on the TV, she sees the same child inside the TV. The scary thing is that on the other hand Anay also sees Antara in his TV. By now Antara has learned that Anay is going to die in a road accident after seeing the murder. Now she tries to save Anay’s life through TV. In the past, Anay saves him from a road accident, but in his affair Antara loses the points of her life in the present.
Despite being an official remake of Miraj, Anurag Kashyap’s style is clearly visible in it. It is a different matter that the audience expects a slightly more deep and layered story from Anurag. As the film moves forward with the events of the past and the present, it gets complicated at many places. But despite being complicated, it keeps you hooked. As usual, Anurag’s female characters are strong, which is reflected in the very first scene, where Anay’s architect mother is seen caring for her son as well as preparing the map of the hospital, Taapsee Pannu as a doctor and nurse. She seems to be struggling to get back to her recent life. The uneasiness starts from the first scene and continues till the end. In the film, along with time travel, the mystery of murder is also solved, in which suspense and thrill remain. There are two songs in the film, although even if they are not there, it doesn’t matter. Editing is tight.
In terms of acting, Taapsee has proved to be twenty in every way. Amidst the tile travels, he has imbued his character with his unique style of acting. His annoyance, madness, audacity and confusion make the character stronger. This time as a police officer, Pavail Gulati is well suited. Swasta Chatterjee has added to the suspense and thrill of the story with her character. Rahul Bhatt, Nassar, Himanshi Chaudhary Choudhary, Nidhi Singh etc are apt in their roles.
Why to watch – Fans of time travel and suspense-thriller films can watch this movie.
