On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Dhami requested the Railway Minister to grant approval to the construction of the much awaited Tanakpur-Bageshwar railway line as soon as possible in view of the operation of “Vande Bharat Express” between Lucknow and Dehradun and expansion of rail service in the hilly areas.

The Chief Minister proposed to start a direct train service connecting Ahmedabad to Kathgodam, Haridwar and Dehradun, re-operation of Kotdwar coach in Doon Express and Ramnagar coach in Janata Express and starting a new train service from Tanakpur to Mehndipur Balaji in Rajasthan. Requested. The Chief Minister said that with the expansion of rail services, transportation will become easier for the residents and tourists of the state in the coming time, and being a tourism major state, the economy of the state will also be strengthened. The Union Railway Minister assured Chief Minister Shri Dhami of all possible cooperation.
