As you know Dev D was released in February 2009. It was a romantic black comedy film. It was written and directed by Anurag Kashyap. Along with Abhay Deol, Kalki Keklan and Mahi Gill were also seen in it. This movie was a hit at the box office. Everyone’s character was liked.

Now in an interview given to Mashable India, Abhay Deol said, ‘Because I grew up in a film family. I have seen fame closely since childhood. I do not like all this because your privacy is not there. Many things are written about you. That’s why I hate fame and also the media. Because when I was growing up, I saw a lot written about the family. Being his child, I was also asked questions whether this is true or that is true? I used to get angry seeing all this. Your father works in films. Your uncle is a big star. It is obvious that whatever was written, I was then asked about it in school as well. I didn’t like all this at all. I saw that there were many people around the family who were not friends but only for profit.

Abhay Deol had become like ‘Dev D’
Abhay Deol further spoke about the time spent in New York. Said- ‘I could not come out of the role I did in Dev D. So for a year I did what Dev D used to do in the film. Although I am slightly better than Dev. I didn’t tear my clothes on the streets. I used to drink everyday like an idiot. I made some good friends so I remember a few things. My whole life is surprising.
