Anupam Kher, who was associated with this film as an actor and executive producer, has shared his excitement towards this award. He expressed happiness over the film winning the National Award, but also expressed grief over not getting the award for his own performance. On the other hand, the film’s director Vivek Agnihotri is happy with the award the film has received. He said that now everyone has accepted that this film is true.

In an interview, Anupam said, ‘We had high hopes of winning the National Award, because when you do your best work, you have such expectations. The film’s director Vivek Agnihotri is currently not in the country but I can say on his behalf that whatever happened after the release, we never expected to win in this category. This National Award has given an answer to every person who raised questions on this film. We all have a smile on our faces after winning the award in this category.
It would also be nice to win a National Award for acting
Anupam further said in the same interview, ‘However, I would have loved to win a National Award for my acting as it is undoubtedly one of my best performances. But as I have already said that if all the wishes come true then how will it be fun to work further.
Happy for Kashmiri Hindus: Vivek
On the other hand, director of the film Vivek Agnihotri has expressed happiness on receiving this award. He said, ‘I am very happy with this award. Especially for the Kashmiri Hindu community, because in the film we showed their pain and struggle. Happy that now no one will question the authenticity of this film.
Anupam will be seen in ‘Emergency’
Talking about the work front, Anupam is currently shooting for the film ‘Emergency’ being directed by Kangana Ranaut. While Kangana will be seen in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film, Anupam will be seen in the role of Jayaprakash Narayan. The film will be released in theaters on 24 November. At the same time, Vivek Agnihotri’s next film ‘The Vaccine War’ will be released in theaters on 28 September.
