‘Om Shanti Om’ directed by Farah Khan was the most successful film of the year 2007. It became the highest grossing film of that year by collecting a total of Rs 150 crore at the box office.
Apart from the film, one of its songs ‘Deewangi-Deewangi’ also gained a lot of popularity. The reason was that many big Bollywood actors had given special appearances in this song.
In an interview, Farah told that she wanted to include Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan in this song but it could not happen.

In a show, Farah told why Aamir could not participate in this song. Farah said, ‘We had invited many stars, some of whom came and some did not. Amit ji could not come because Aishwarya and Abhishek’s wedding was in the same week. Aamir Khan kept avoiding me for a long time and then finally he refused to come giving a very funny reason.
Aamir was busy editing ‘Taare Zameen Par’
Farah further said, ‘Aamir told me that he is editing ‘Taare Zameen Par’. On this I said just give me two hours time. To this Aamir replied that Farah, if I leave editing for two hours, my film will be delayed for six months.
After this I told him to leave it, don’t come. Later, when I asked him the real reason, he said that he did not want to come.
30 celebs participated in the 9 minute song
Talking about the song ‘Deewangi-Deewangi’ of the film, a total of 30 celebs had given guest appearance in it. In this 9-minute song, celebs like Jeetendra, Dharmendra and Rekha, Govinda, Kajol and Salman Khan were seen.
Singers like Shaan, Udit Narayan, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Rahul Saxena lent their voices to this song. Lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar and music was given by Vishal-Shekhar.
