These are the special things of 74th Republic Day.
1- For the first time on the 74th Republic Day, women personnel of ‘Mahila Prahari’, a camel contingent of the Border Security Force (BSF), will participate in the Republic Day parade.
2- Squadron Leader Sindhu Reddy will lead the marching contingent of the Indian Air Force on the path of duty in Delhi on Republic Day. Last year on Republic Day, the Indian Air Force had won the award for the Best Marching Contingent for 2022 in the People’s Choice category.
2- To promote Make in India, the old 25-pounder guns that traditionally give a 21-gun salute during the Republic Day celebrations this year will be replaced by 105 mm Indian field guns.
3- This year many indigenous equipment will be seen in the tableau of the Indian Army as the army will use indigenous equipment under Atmanirbhar Bharat.
4- Squadron Leader Sindhu Reddy will lead the marching contingent of the Indian Air Force on the path of duty in Delhi on Republic Day. Last Republic Day, IAF won the 2022 award for the best marching contingent in the People’s Choice category.
5- The contribution of women will be more in enhancing the glory of 26 January. Lieutenant Commander Disha Amrit will lead a marching contingent of 144 young sailors of the Indian Navy on the Republic Day.
6- On the lines of this year’s Republic’s theme Janbhagidari, the first line in the parade has been reserved for Shramyogis like Kendriya Vista workers, frontline workers, vegetable vendors and auto drivers instead of VVIPs.
