Organize a program on the G20 theme
UGC Chairman Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar says that during India’s G20 presidency, more than 200 meetings are being organized by various ministries and groups in 56 cities across the country. With the aim of connecting every student with the G20 theme, an outreach program, “University Connect”, has also been launched, in which schools and higher education institutions can engage their students in events around the G20 theme. University convocations, annual days, sports events, seminars and other events will be linked to the theme of the G20. G20 logo, posters should be put up on campus as well as displayed in all programs of educational institutions. Special events including seminars, quizzes, painting, crossword, marathon, cycling marathon, insta-reel and other competitions, sporting events, youth camps, model G20 can be organised. Resource and Information Center for Developing Countries is conducting seminars in 75 universities. A template for the same will be issued separately. All institutes should organize seminars on G20 theme based on this template.
The program will end in September
UGC says that all institutes will conduct regular cleanliness drives in and around their respective campuses as part of the G20 programme. G20 T-shirts, caps, G20 badges can be distributed to the students and NSS volunteers participating in the campaign. The celebrations will culminate in a grand event in September, with competitions on G-20, prize distribution of Jazz/Band/NCC Parade. Institutions can ensure maximum community participation in these events. UGC has said to undertake activities from January to September, 2023 and ensure dissemination of issues under the purview of India’s Chairmanship in G20 at various venues. All the events being conducted should also be disseminated through the local and social media platforms of the institution.
