Navjot Singh Life was born on 20 October 1963 in Patiala, Punjab. His father was Sardar Bhagwant Singh, a cricketer, his mother was Nirmal Sidhu. His wife’s name is Navjot Kaur Sidhu. If we talk about Navjot’s professional career, then he holds the title of being a cricketer, politician and commentator. He was in the Bharatiya Janata Party from 2004 to 2016 and from 2017 till now he is associated with the Congress.

cricket career
He made his first-class debut (Navjot Singh Cricket Career) in November 1981, playing for Punjab against Services at Amritsar. He opened the innings and scored 51 runs. His team won the match by an innings. After scoring a century for North Zone against the West Indies team, he was called up to the Indian Test squad in November 1983.
On the 1996 tour of England, he was ruled out due to differences with captain Mohammad Azharuddin. The BCCI had also dropped him from the team for ten Tests. He finally made a comeback in the 1996–1997 West Indies tour. In December 1999, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He played around 51 Test matches and over 100 ODIs and scored over 7,000 international runs. He is also known by nicknames including ‘Sixar Sidhu’ and ‘Joty Singh’.
Sidhu’s career in commentator and TV
Sidhu started his career as a commentator in India’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2001 (Navjot Singh Career As Commentator). He was also signed on to commentary on Ten Sports. He did commentary for Sony during the 2014 season of the Indian Premier League. He appeared as a judge on the television program The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. He also appeared in other similar programs.
He was also seen on Comedy Nights with Kapil’s comedy show in 2013 as a permanent guest till the show ended in 2016. Later, she was replaced by Archana Puran Singh of The Kapil Sharma Show Season 2. He was also seen in the Hindi film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi in 2004 as a commentator during a cricket match. He also played an important role in the 2008 Punjabi language film Mera Pind. political career
Sidhu’s political career started in 2004 when he won the Lok Sabha elections from Amritsar on a BJP ticket. He won the 2009 Lok Sabha election from Amritsar by defeating Congress Om Prakash Soni.
In April 2016, he took oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha and in July 2016, he resigned from the Rajya Sabha.
Then in September 2016, he along with Pargat Singh and Bains brothers set up a new political front called Awaaz-e-Punjab. He joined the Indian National Congress in January 2017. In the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections, he contested from Amritsar and won the election. In July 2021, Sidhu was appointed as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee replacing Mr. Sunil Jakhar. He resigned from the post of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President on September 2021 but his resignation was rejected by the high command.
