PIB. In an effort to make women independent and employable, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has launched a nationwide capacity building and personality development program for undergraduate and postgraduate girl students. The Commission is collaborating with Central and State Universities to organize sessions on personal capacity building, vocational career skills and digital literacy and effective use of social media to prepare girl students for entry into jobs.
NCW today launched its first program in association with Central University of Haryana. NCW President Rekha Sharma inaugurated the program and said that we need more women leaders in every field and the curriculum started by NCW will prepare women to be good leaders. She said, “Women have proved their mettle in every field. We want more women leaders who will enable other women to come forward in their journey of empowerment and achieving economic independence. NCW, through this course, will help the girl students at every step towards their employability including preparing their resume and face the interview and prepare them to face all the challenges with confidence.”
The course will focus on learning and applying intuitive, logical and critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills to enhance employability. The curriculum is divided into three categories; Personal capacity building, vocational career skills and digital literacy and effective use of social media. Individual capacity building sessions will help the girl students to enhance their skills like time management, stress management and communication. The objective of the session is to engage female learners in effective communication by respecting diversity and adopting good listening skills.
This will help students practice interpersonal skills for better relationships with peers and stakeholders as well as help them understand the importance of documenting important ideas and action points. The session will help the girl students to learn effective time management skills so that they can save themselves from unnecessary stress. Let us tell you that a press release has been published by PIB for the above mentioned things.
