Kumar stressed that the aim of the portal is not to centralize faculty hiring for all central universities. Universities will continue hiring as before. But they only have to upload the data on this portal. The idea of the portal was first pitched by Kumar to the universities’ unions in March 2022. However, after the creation of this portal, the Central Universities have been instructed to dissolve their existing recruitment portals.
Jagadesh Kumar has also said that the central universities will continue to advertise positions, collect online applications, shortlist applicants, conduct interviews and appoint faculty members, as they were doing earlier. All the above activities will be done through admin dashboard for each university on this portal.
On the portal, applicants will get assistance to fill the form. Also get a consolidated list of openings in Central Universities, personalized dashboard. It will have filters like location, designation, subject, experience and education level, which applicants can tick to see the openings of their choice. Let us tell you that 31 percent of the sanctioned posts are vacant in various Central Universities. This information was recently given by the Central Government in the Lok Sabha.
