Head of the Department of Biotechnology, GLA University, Mathura Prof. Shoorveer Singh has been conferred with “IAP Emeritus Award” by International Paratuberculosis Organization, USA. This award has been given for the research done on the 15th Conference on ParaTB held in Dublin city of Ireland country. On receiving the award to the professor, GLA CEO Neeraj Aggarwal described the university as a better research institute.
Head of the Department of Biotech Prof. Shoorveer Singh is known not only in India but in the world for his research in the field of Para Tuberculosis since last 36 years. Under this, approval was received for research by the DBT Institute of the Government of India for the discovery of paratuberculosis disease found in animals. Worked on this in collaboration with another Central Government organization National Institute of Animal Biotechnology Hyderabad and Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi.
Head of Department Prof. Shoorveer Singh said that due to incurable diseases like Paratuberculosis and Johannes, the production of animals in India and other countries has reduced very little. The animal which used to have uterus 10 to 12 times earlier, but due to such disease now there is hardly 3 to 4 times of uterus. This disease destroys the intestines and immunity, which leads to the loss of animal production capacity. The work done by the department in this field has been appreciated and recognized not only at the national level but also at the international level. After many years of research, Prof. Knights has developed a Johns disease vaccine. Assistant Professors Dr. Saurabh Gupta and Dr. Kundan Kumar Choubey also contributed in preparing this vaccine. John’s Disease Vaccine Bacterial Vaccine will prevent infection as well as kill the bacteria present in the body of the infected cow. Due to which the animals are completely healthy and start producing again.
Giving information about the “IAP Emeritus Award”, he said that a program is organized every two years by various institutions for the experts doing better research in the field of diagnosis and prevention of this bacterium and technology by the Institute of Paratuboculosis. Where one or two of the worldwide scientists who have done better research and work are honored in a world-class conference held once in two years. This year also the event was held and the President of the Association, Rod Chiodini, has been conferred with the IAP Emeritus Award. It is expected that this event will also be organized by GLA University in the year 2024.
On conferring the award on Professor Shoorveer of GLA Biotech by International Paratuberculosis Organization, Neeraj Aggarwal, Chief Executive Officer of GLA and President of NHRDN Mathura Chapter, also congratulated Prof. Congratulations to the warrior. The CEO said that the professors and students of GLA over the years and presently have set new dimensions in the field of research. The research done in the development of the country will emerge in the coming times. He described GLA as a better place for research.
