Prof Singh said, “We have several options for admission – first, continuation of the existing system, second may be normalization of marks of various boards, third entrance examination for admission and fourth entrance examination for 50 percent and board. The marks are to be given 50 percent weightage. Now the Academic Council and the Executive Council have to decide on this.
A nine-member panel constituted by Professor Singh recommended DU to conduct a common entrance exam to ensure ‘adequate objectivity’ in the graduate admission process.

This year maximum number of CBSE board students have been admitted in Delhi University. After this, Kerala Board of Higher Secondary Education, Board of School Education, Haryana, ICSE and Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan have the highest number of students. Prof Singh said that he is not in favor of cut-off based admission. In such a system, those students are benefited whose boards have ‘lenient’ marking.
Prof Singh said, “For example, students of UP board are not getting admission in Delhi University. Some boards are not liberal. Even Haryana board and students from neighboring states are not getting admission here, we A large number of students are coming from Kerala, but not from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh.
