Offline class starts for students of class 6th to 12th
The Directorate of Education has asked all schools on Friday that the Air Quality Commission has allowed the resumption of offline classes for students from class 6 to class 12. In view of this, all government schools, government aided schools, private schools, NDMC schools, all three MCD schools and Cantt Board schools are being opened from December 18. The directorate has asked all the schools to convey this information to all the students, staff members, members of the school management committee and parents.

Primary schools can open from December 27
Following the direction of the Supreme Court, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has approved the opening of schools for students up to class 6th from December 18 and primary schools from December 27, 2021. Offline classes for children of class 5th can be started from December 27.
Thoughts on winter holidays
Let us inform that earlier it was also considered to open schools after the winter holidays. According to a tweet by ANI, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that he can take a decision to reopen the schools after the winter break. “We are prepared to deal with the threat from Omicron,” he said. If need be, we will impose necessary restrictions. At present, there is no such requirement to impose any restriction.’

Significantly, on November 16, the CAQM had directed the closure of schools, colleges and institutions in Delhi-NCR till further orders. After this, on November 25, CAQM lifted the ban on offline classes on schools in Delhi-NCR. After this, on December 2, all the schools and colleges of Delhi-NCR were once again closed.
