At TNS India Foundation (TNSIF), we have over a decade of expertise in implementing effective programs that drive economic reconstruction for the nation. We see ourselves not just as an organization but as an active partner in the journey of economic transformation. Our efforts have changed countless lives, making a positive impact on individuals, families and communities.
As a non-profit group, we started in 2012 as a part of TechnoServe Inc., but we have been operating independently since 2022. Our biggest objective in this country is to empower women. Also the poverty of the country has to be ended. For which we do amazing work with big companies, as a result of which we not only empower women but also help fight poverty across India.
Our primary goal is to address economic inequality with a special focus on women. We believe that when women get the right training, they handle financial challenges better. We want to make India fairer and more prosperous for all.
In which areas does TNSIF work?
Ever since we started, we have been working hard in various fields to improve the country and society. We help youth to prepare for jobs in banks, IT companies and factories. Our goal is to help women start their own small businesses, whether it’s selling clothes, food or manufacturing products. In farming, TNSIF helps farmers work as a group by forming groups called Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). We connect them to markets and provide advice on good crops. One of our big water initiatives is teaching them how to manage water and take care of the soil. Thus we are engaged in improving the society in various fields!
Can you provide information about the impactful projects TNSIF is bringing about positive change in various sectors?
TNSIF is actively involved in many impactful projects with a focus on bringing positive change in various sectors.
We have successfully provided soft, technical and financial training to urban youth, resulting in a placement rate of 80%. This has not only helped them unlock their hidden potential, but also helped them make a meaningful impact in their communities.
In support of women entrepreneurs, TNSIF is doing extensive work in both urban and rural areas. Our amazing efforts empower women with essential business development skills ranging from financial skills training to effective product marketing, promoting economic development and empowerment.
Our rural livelihoods initiatives are remarkably transformative. In Gir region of Gujarat, our FPO Talala Gir Kesar Khedut Producer Company Limited (TGKKPCL) has created an acclaimed brand of kesar mango farmers known as Gir Farming Company. The initiative supports 1,500 farmers, ensuring sustainable mango production. Similarly, our Ankur-Uday project in Nashik has brought positive changes for grape and tomato farmers. With a special emphasis on empowering women, through innovative methods like organic kitchen gardens, we have created sustainable opportunities that make a real difference to their lives.
To date, TNSIF has delivered financial benefits of over Rs 330 crore. We aim to benefit 50,000 beneficiaries by March 2024, including empowering youth, supporting women entrepreneurs and upliftment of farmers.
Regarding our ongoing initiatives, TNSIF is actively involved in several projects. C2C Program Provides soft skills training to final year undergraduate students in Mumbai. Our C2TC program Equips engineering and IT students from 10 states with advanced technical skills training for their future careers. C2IC Initiative In partnership with Lenovo and Microsoft, we help 8,000 ITI and polytechnic students unlock their potential in industrial jobs and green skills training. We are also working on a program focused on financial technology, specifically designed to make commerce students job-ready.
What new schemes and projects is TNSIF going to work on?
At TNS India Foundation, we have some exciting plans that are going to bring real change in people’s lives. We are expanding our programs across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and elsewhere. Our goal is to provide the youth with the necessary training for jobs. Also, we are setting up centers of excellence in more areas. Through our women empowerment programs, we hope that these empowered women will get an opportunity to showcase their businesses on a renowned platform like Shark Tank India. We will train them and provide full support, so that they become independent in business and successful in renovating the society. We are feeling quite optimistic. We aim to help 1 lakh people across India in the next three years with our programs.
