Why is Blinkit in trouble?
Blinkit, which used to deliver goods to people in 10 minutes, has reduced the incentive of its delivery agents, after which it is getting into trouble. Over 1000 riders in Delhi-NCR have left Blinkit and joined other companies. Blinkit, engaged in making profits, backfired on its own. The company which was growing continuously, suddenly took such a decision which has put it in trouble. The people on whom the entire foundation of the company rests, the company has angered them only.
This decision increased the difficulty

In the first week of April, the company announced that it has decided to pay delivery partners Rs 15 per trip from the norm based on the distance-based component. Till now the riders were getting Rs 25 per delivery, which the company reduced to Rs 15. Not only this, the company has also abolished the Rs 7 incentive given to the peak hour riders. That is, for the delivery for which earlier they were getting Rs 25, now they have directly reduced by Rs 10. There is resentment among the delivery agents because of this.
The pain of delivery workers

When we asked a delivery boy of Blinkit about this, he fumed at the company. She has told how Blinkit’s decision is making it difficult for her to run the household. Inflation is rising, but instead of increasing the incentive, the company cut the earnings. He told that everything was fine till a year ago. It was a pleasure working with the company. They used to get up to Rs 50 for delivery. Sometimes the company used to even give allowance for petrol, but now gradually the company has stopped everything. Earlier the payment for delivery has been reduced from Rs 50 to Rs 25 and now to Rs 15. Till a year ago, where the earning of 20 to 25 thousand rupees used to be done, it has reduced to half. In such a situation, it has become difficult to run the house. He accused the company of cheating. However, he has now left Blinkit and is working for Big Basket.
Understand the game of the company

Blinkit, which claims to deliver goods to your home in 10 minutes, did not charge delivery charges from the customer when it started. But after few months he started charging delivery charge, handling charge apart from service charge. If you order an item below Rs.150, Blinkit charges Rs.30 as delivery charge, Rs.2 as handling charge. If your order is more than Rs 150, then you have to pay this delivery charge of Rs 15 and Rs 2 handling charge. Despite charging the delivery charge from the customer, the company continues to cut the payment of its riders. Let’s say you order an item for less than Rs.150. 32 rupees on the bill amount, you are charged extra in the name of delivery and handling, but the delivery boy who delivers it to you gets only 15 rupees.
Collection from customer but not payment to delivery agents?

Sometimes the company even charges surcharge. When the demand increases, you are charged a surcharge according to your location. But the rider who delivers the goods to you through traffic jams, storms, gets the fixed payment only. In this way, the company is filling its pocket by charging from the customer, but is cutting the payment of the delivery agents. Blinkit has around 200 warehouses in Delhi-NCR. They serve customers within a radius of 2-3 kms. After the change in the company’s payment plan, its riders are slowly leaving Blinkit.
