rbi withdrawal 2000 currency: Now 2000 rupee note will not be seen in the market. RBI has decided to withdraw this note. As per RBI’s decision, Rs 2000 note will be withdrawn from circulation. However, the existing notes will not be invalid. RBI has taken this decision under ‘Clean Note Policy’. However, do not panic about this decision… because RBI has given the option to exchange the 2000 notes available in the market. RBI has instructed banks to exchange 2000 notes from May 23 to September 30. At a time, only notes worth Rs 20,000 will be exchanged. Banks will not issue 2000 notes from now onwards. RBI has issued an order to this effect on Friday evening.
2000 note came after 2016 note ban
In order to curb black money, in 2016, PM Modi took a big decision and decided to close the notes of 500 and 1000 rupees. After this decision, Rs 2000 note came into circulation. However, after a few days, this note of 2000 rupees started appearing very rarely in the market.
For the last few months, it had happened that this pink note was not even visible in the bank-ATM. Meanwhile, the issue of demonetisation of Rs 2000 note came to the fore many times. But on Friday, May 19, the RBI has officially decided to withdraw the Rs 2,000 note.
