The heavily debt-ridden Vodafone Idea lost 3.5 million customers in October. Vodafone Idea is the third largest telecom company in the country. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio is at number one and Airtel is at number two. Both these companies have started 5G in many cities of the country but Vodafone Idea has not been able to do so till now.
license may be revoked
According to media reports, Vodafone Idea is defaulting on license fee. The company has not paid the license fee to the government. The government can issue a show cause notice to the company. The company had paid only 10 per cent fees in the last quarter. The company has to pay a fee of Rs 780 crore but it paid only Rs 78 crore. If the company does not pay the remaining amount, its license can also be cancelled.
