Now children in the country are going to get a vaccine against corona. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this on Saturday night. He also warned people about the growing threat of Omicron. He said that in view of the changing nature of Corona, there is a need to take full care. However, he advised to avoid any kind of rumours. He said that from January 3, people in the age group of 15 to 18 years would be vaccinated. Health workers and people above 60 years of age who have other diseases will also be given a precaution dose of the vaccine from January 10.
So far, many companies have made vaccines for children in the country. These include Bharat Biotech, Serum Institute and Zydus Cadila. However, they are designed for children of different age groups. The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) on Saturday approved Bharat Biotech’s vaccine for children.

Bharat Biotech’s vaccine is designed for children aged 12 to 18 years. DCGI has approved its emergency use. It is named Covaccine. Covaccine is also the name of Bharat Biotech’s vaccine for adults. Two doses of this will be given to the children. There will be a gap of 28 days between the first and second dose.
Serum Institute of Pune also announced the launch of Kovax last week. However, the company has said that it will be launched in the next six months. This vaccine will be administered to children above 3 years of age. Serum CEO Adar Poonawalla had said that Covax is still in the trial phase. It has shown great results in 3 year olds.

Earlier, Zydus Cadila had announced the launch of needle-free vaccine. Its name is Jayakov-D. In August this year, its use was allowed for children above the age of 12. This vaccine can also be used for adults.
