Union Minister Anurag Thakur has said that the government is extending the Ujjwala scheme for the next three years (till 2026) and during this period, 75 lakh more free LPG connections will be given in different parts of the country.

Let us tell you that while expanding the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwal Yojana, the government has announced that the government will distribute 75 lakh free LPG connections under this scheme in the next three years i.e. till 2026. This information has been given by Cabinet Minister Anurag Thakur. For this, a budget expenditure of Rs 1650 crore was estimated which has been approved by the government. With the distribution of gas connections to 75 lakh people, the number of beneficiaries of Ujjwal Yojana will increase and cross the figure of 10 crores. The government is seeing this as a big achievement. Let us tell you that till now the government has distributed 9.60 crore free LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwal Yojana.
It was announced only last month
Let us tell you that last month itself the government had announced to provide 75 lakh free LPG gas connections. However, during this time the matter regarding the budget got stuck. Now Cabinet Minister Anurag Thakur has clarified that the government has approved a budget of Rs 1650 crore for the expansion of this scheme. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan itself, PM Modi had announced to give a big gift to women by giving a discount of Rs 200 (400 for Ujjwal scheme) in the prices of LPG gas. Regarding this, all the central ministers had described it as PM Modi’s Rakshabandhan gift to the women of the country. Now in this sequence, this announcement of the government is being seen as a wonderful work done for women.
