No person from Pakistan is included in the list of top 500 rich people of the world. According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, 20 rich people of India are included in this list. Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Group, is fourth in this list and Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, is at number 12. Gautam Adani’s net worth is $120 billion and Mukesh Ambani’s net worth is $84.7 billion. Mian Mohammad Mansha is called Ambani of Pakistan. According to media reports, his net worth is close to one billion dollars. However, his net worth has declined in recent years.

Mansha was born in 1947. His father had established a cotton mill which is today known as Nishat Textiles Mills. Mansha joined the family business in 1969 and took it to great heights. In 2005, he emerged as the richest man in Pakistan. His businesses span across banking, textiles, insurance, cement and power. In March 2010, he got a place in Forbes’ list of billionaires. He was at number 937 in this list. In the year 2008, he started MCB Bank with Maybank of Malaysia.
In the year 2012, he applied to open three branches of his bank in India. They had plans to open branches in Delhi, Mumbai and Amritsar. Mansha had then claimed that two more banks from Pakistan were planning to start business in India. But his plan never took off. By the way, India’s state bank Punjab National Bank had also sought permission from RBI to open a branch in Lahore, Pakistan. Punjab National Bank was established in 1894 in Lahore.
