Samsung said in a statement on Tuesday that the three winning teams in the ‘Solve for Tomorrow in India’ competition have been given Rs 1 crore to improve their prototypes. In addition, six months of incubation will also be given to the winners from the ‘Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer’ of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
The Bengaluru-based Sputnik Brain team, selected as the winner, has developed a wearable device that will help reduce stress through safe brain modulation.
On the other hand, a team of girls from Port Blair and Delhi ‘Udaan’ has prepared an economical and cleanable sanitary pad. This pad is made with the help of sugarcane bagasse.
In addition, the Hyderabad-based ‘Alpha Monitor’ team has developed a smart band to help monitor and care for Alzheimer’s patients.
While felicitating the winners, Ken Kang, President and CEO, Samsung (Southwest Asia) said, “All the young winners are the future of India. They have the potential to change India and the world. We will work with him to translate his ideas into action and transform people’s lives.”
