The company said that the airbag controller in these vehicles is being taken back free of cost for inspection and replacement if required. Maruti Suzuki said that it is suspected that there is a defect in the affected part, due to which the airbag and seat belt pretensioner may not function properly in some cases in the event of a vehicle accident. The statement also said that customers of the suspected vehicles are advised not to drive with extreme caution until the affected part is replaced.
Vehicles were ordered last month as well
Earlier, the company had also announced the recall of 40,453 units of Eeco last month. These vehicles were manufactured between November 4, 2019 and February 25 last year. Along with this, there were some eco vehicles in which the headlamps were changed in the field. Maruti has recently increased the prices of all its vehicles. The company has increased the price of vehicles for the second time in the current financial year. Its margins were under pressure due to rising costs.
