New Delhi. The new month is starting from Monday i.e. November 1, and with this, changes will be seen in many things and sectors related to everyday life. While some of these changes will affect the common people, there are others which will give an opportunity to the people to earn money. These changes are being implemented in the country just a few days before the festival of lights i.e. Diwali.
On the technical front too, a major change will be implemented by the instant messaging service WhatsApp that will affect many users in the country as well as across the world. Let’s take a look at some of these important changes:
1. LPG cylinder price expected to increase
A news agency had reported earlier this month that the price of cylinders containing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) used for cooking in many households may be hiked by oil marketing companies. The news agency had said that the under-recovery on the fuel has exceeded Rs 100 per cylinder. However, this increase depends on the decision of the government. If allowed by the government, this will be the fifth increase in the rates of cooking gas across all categories of households. At present, the price of LPG cylinder in the national capital Delhi is Rs 899.50.
2. Relief for Pensioners
State Bank of India (SBI) is launching a new service from 1st November. Under this, pensioners will not need to visit the bank branch to submit life certificate. This facility will allow pensioners to do so through video call.
3. Good News for Investors
Those looking to invest their hard earned money will get another chance on November 1, when the Initial Public Offer (IPO) of Policy Bazaar opens. He will get more opportunity when the IPO of digital payments company Paytm is launched on November 8. Besides Policy Bazaar, the IPO of SJS Enterprise, chemical maker Sigachi Industries, will also open on November 1. This is also the date when Nykaa’s IPO will be closed to the public.
4. Special trains during the festive season
Indian Railways will run special trains in the month of November in view of Diwali, Chhath and other festivals. While some of these trains will start from November 1, others will be introduced on different dates throughout the month. In addition, Southern Railway had announced on 25 October that their non-monsoon timetable would be effective from 1 November.
5. WhatsApp will end support for some Android and iOS users
Instant messaging platform WhatsApp has shared a list of smartphones that use outdated software (both Android and iOS). The company said that these users will not be able to use the messaging platform from November 1. Their operating systems not updated have been asked to do so before that date.
