what does the report say
In a report released by LinkedIn here on Wednesday, it has been told that at present there is an atmosphere of economic uncertainty around the world. Along with this, retrenchment is going on in big companies. That’s why 4 out of 5 professionals in India are looking for a new job in the year 2023. According to a LinkedIn report, 88 percent of professionals in the age group of 18-24, 64 percent of professionals in the age group of 45-54 are considering changing jobs.
taking the long term view
Despite the uncertain economic times ahead, professionals are taking a long-term view of their careers by investing in their skills and actively seeking opportunities for advancement, says this LinkedIn report. Three quarters (78 percent) of employees surveyed said that if they were to leave their job, they would feel confident finding other roles to apply for.
trust your abilities
Neerjita Banerjee, LinkedIn Career Expert, said, “Despite tough economic conditions, the Indian workforce is confident in its abilities to grow and move forward. It is essential for professionals to invest in themselves by building transferable skills that will make their profiles more versatile and adaptable to different roles.” One in three (32 per cent) said they also feel more confident in their abilities and think they can find a better role.
expanding our network
According to LinkedIn’s Workforce Confidence Index, just two out of five (43 per cent) professionals in India feel prepared for the economic downturn. However, the ongoing uncertainty is seeing even professionals themselves taking proactive measures to ‘career cushion’. More than half (54 percent) of professionals in India are expanding their network by staying in touch with the right people and attending more professional events. Additionally, 44 percent of people today are learning new in-demand and transferable skills, the report said.
