Reliance Jio was the top bidder in this round of auction. The company bid for Rs 88,078 crore for 24,740 MHz radio waves in five bands.
“It is all set to launch 5G services in the shortest possible time with nationwide fiber availability, IP network, indigenous 5G stack and strong global partnerships,” the company said.
Regarding the spectrum auction, Reliance Jio said that it has won spectrum in 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 1800 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands. This will create a state-of-the-art 5G network.
“With access to this spectrum, the company will be able to build the world’s most advanced 5G network and further strengthen India’s global leadership in wireless broadband connectivity,” the company said.
