Indians thoroughly enjoyed ‘Workcation’ this year: Report

New Delhi, Dec 29 (PTI) The ‘workcation’ model has been rejoiced by Indians this year in a beautiful place away from home. This has been concluded in the report of OYO Travelopedia-2021.

Workcation is a kind of a mixture of work and vacation, in which people can enjoy tourism along with working somewhere away from their home. In fact, due to the closure of the travel and tourism sector due to the corona virus epidemic in 2020, people were forced to stay at home, who had been wanting to move out for a long time. Many of them went to tourist places after the ban was lifted and started their online work from there.

About 65 per cent of the respondents in India have traveled in the last six months and most of them visited their loved ones, while some left their daily routine and traveled for holidays.

According to OYO’s fourth annual year-end index – OYO Travelopedia-2021, “Nearly 48 percent of Indians worked from home during the year, of which 85 percent worked on a work assignment or from a beautiful location away from home.” Told his choice to work. Of these, 61 per cent worked on a work cation.

Interestingly, about 27 percent of the people stayed on work for a month. Hilly areas top the list of people’s favorite places for this initiative to work and travel together.

Many people then traveled to their hometowns and beach-related sites and spent much of their time there.

The survey was conducted this month to study travel intent and expectations among the company’s user base in some of the company’s key markets, including India, Indonesia and Europe. It took the responses of about 3,000 people.

OYO Travelopedia-2021 report found that with the massive immunization drive, the desire to travel among Indians has increased and their confidence is back again.
