Informed sources in the market said that the Malaysia Exchange is down 0.3 per cent, while the Chicago Exchange is currently up by half a per cent.
Sources said that earlier the arrival of soybean in the mandis across the country used to be around six lakh bags, which has come down to about four lakh bags. Soybean grain and loose prices declined due to weak demand from the millers and reduced subscription of DOC. Soybean oil prices closed with gains on the strength of the Chicago Exchange.
He said that in line with the improvement in soybean, the prices of mustard oil and oilseeds also closed strong. Mustard oil and oilseeds prices were supported by winter demand. On the other hand, despite the decline of Malaysia Exchange, CPO and Palmolein oil prices remained at the previous level. Cottonseed oil and groundnut oil-oilseeds prices also closed strongly amid demand for lighter oils.
