The 38th General Meeting of the SIS Group was held yesterday at the famous Maurya Hotel in Patna. Meanwhile, the group’s founder chairman and former Rajya Sabha member Ravindra Kishore Sinha told that the company has now joined the billion dollar club. This is the first time a Bihari company has received this honor. He told that the last year was spent in the shadow of Corona. Even then, the company’s total income during the year 2021-22 stood at Rs 10059.1 crore. This year the company’s net profit profit after tax stood at Rs 325.9 crore.
The company was started in just Rs 250
Ravindra Kishore Sinha had laid the foundation of this company in the year 1974 for just 250 rupees. Today, out of a small town in Bihar, Security and Intelligence Services has transformed into a multinational group. Presently, the company handles the functions of a security solution provider as well as facility management and cash logistics. Today the group has grown to $1.3 billion. It employs about 2.5 lakh employees.

RK Sinha says that SIS is a Khanti Bihari company. Even though today its reach is outside India, but its DNA is Bihari. If said, it is True Bihari Multinational Company. He says that at present the livelihood of 269595 families is running from SIS Group. Of these, 28300 families are from Bihar. Not only this, the company also plans to provide jobs to at least 10 thousand Biharis in the next two years.
RK Sinha had seven siblings
RK Sinha once told “I was born in Patna. We were seven siblings. The financial condition of my family was not good, so we had a lot of problems in childhood. In the year 1971 when I got a degree in Political Science. It was then that I started a part-time job as a trainee reporter in a publication named Searchlight to help the family financially.

He says, “As part of my job assignment, I had to cover the Indo-Pak war and in the process I stopped at a border post with the Bihar Regiment. During this I became friends with the army men who served for two years. After that helped me a lot in my venture Security and Intelligence Services (SIS). However, before that I had to complete my graduation degree as well as file a full time reporter story in Searchlight. In 1973 I met Jayaprakash Narayan and his political activism. I was very impressed, I openly supported his views. This behavior of mine was not liked by the company management and I had to resign from the job. As a severance package, I was given two months salary, which was around Rs.250.
23 years old, Rs 250 invested and became SIS
RK Sinha says, “At that time I was very upset and I was not understanding what to do next. But, then a friend of mine associated with the construction business told that he needed a retired armyman for his project site. Told him that I know some army men who can help in this work. My friend suggested me to form a company and handle all these things for him. Sensing the possibilities, I took my severance I rented a small garage in Patna out of the package and formed SIS in February 1974, when I was 23 years old.”

Initially, RK Sinha started his company with the help of only 14 retired armymen. His work was good, so the work went on increasing. Similarly, by the end of one year of the company’s inception, the number of its employees increased to 250-300. With this the turnover exceeded one lakh rupees. Now this company has expanded in the country and abroad. It not only has about 2.5 lakh employees now, but the income has also increased to Rs 10059.1 crore.
