Amaravati, Aug 5 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh is aiming to attract $4 billion investment in the electric vehicles segment in the coming years. Taking the first step in this direction, the state government organized a one-day CEO-Ministerial level dialogue on Friday. The State will formulate necessary policy after taking the views and opinions of various stakeholders of the EV category. This is a first of its kind initiative by any state under the World Economic Forum-Moving India Network on the theme of ‘Shaping the Future of Vehicles’, Andhra Pradesh Industries and Investment Minister Gudivada Amarnath said.

This is a first of its kind initiative by any state under the World Economic Forum-Moving India Network on the theme of ‘Shaping the Future of Vehicles’, Andhra Pradesh Industries and Investment Minister Gudivada Amarnath said.
He said that the Andhra Pradesh government plans to rapidly expand the EV landscape and also accelerate the transition to EV adoption and clean vehicles.
“We want to establish Andhra Pradesh as the ‘guiding’ state in terms of EVs and attract investment of $4 billion,” Amarnath said. We want to make the state the main destination for manufacturing and development of batteries, hydrogen production and storage, manufacturing of EV parts etc.
