According to a survey released on Monday by Meesho-Kantar, 34 per cent of sellers plan to focus on promotions and discounts this festive season.
Major e-commerce companies are starting their festive season sales from 23rd September. Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra have announced the commencement of their festive sales from the same date, barring the SoftBank-backed Meesho.
The survey said that of the total sellers who participated in the study, 36 per cent said that they would introduce new products before the upcoming festive season.
At the same time, 34 percent of sellers plan to focus on promotions and discounts.
As per the survey report, “Significantly 33 per cent sellers have said that they will invest in improving product quality ahead of the festive season keeping customer satisfaction in mind.”
The survey is based on feedback from 787 sellers selling their products online.
Vendors from metros and tier I and II cities including Surat, Jaipur, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Tiruppur, Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, Panipat, Kanpur, Delhi, Kolkata, Patna and Cuttack participated.
Around 32 per cent of the small traders in the survey also said that they buy additional stock to meet the festive demand.
