Rajasthan Assembly Election 2023: These days, along with the sands of Rajasthan, heat is also being seen in the politics there. Let us tell you that assembly elections are to be held in the state on November 25 and preparations for this are in full swing by BJP along with the ruling party Congress. It is being claimed that BJP is trying hard to return to power in Rajasthan. In this sequence, recently BJP had surprised everyone by releasing the first list of its candidates. It was claimed that former CM of the state Vasundhara Raje had no say in ticket distribution. This was also said because the party did not nominate two candidates who were special to Vasundhara. This includes the names of Narpat Singh Rajvi from Vidyanagar Assembly and Rajpal Singh Shekhawat from Jhotwara. Both these leaders are considered close to Vasundhara.
Political equation of Rajasthan
The political equation of Rajasthan looks very interesting. Let us tell you that there are a total of 200 assembly seats in the state. In such a situation, to form the government, political parties will have to get majority with 101 seats. Regarding Rajasthan, it is said that there is a tradition of change of power here every five years. In such a situation, it is being claimed that this time BJP will return to power by maintaining this tradition. However, this does not seem to be so easy because the party is struggling with internal strife which may impact the assembly elections.
BJP returned to the government in 2003 under the leadership of Vasundhara Raje, maintaining the tradition. During this time Vasundhara Raje was made the Chief Minister of the state. After this, in the year 2008, Congress returned to power and formed the government. Then in 2013, the tables turned and BJP returned to power and Raje was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state. However, in the 2018 assembly elections, Congress ousted BJP from power and formed the government under the leadership of Gehlot. Now looking at this sequence, it is being claimed that BJP can once again return to power. However, the path to power is not going to be easy this time and the circumstances seem different from every time.
Ignoring Vasundhari can prove costly
Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje comes from the royal family. His penetration in Rajasthan is quite good. This is the reason that despite all the contradictions, the BJP high command cannot ignore him. However, in the first list of BJP released for this election, tickets of two of its staunch supporters have been canceled and many prominent leaders have been fielded in the election field. Regarding this, it is being said that Vasundhara’s ticket has not been divided. However, it is also being said that the first list has just been released and candidates are yet to be selected for most of the seats. In such a situation, the high command will again take Raje into confidence and enter the electoral fray.
Vasundhara Raje is powerful in Rajasthan
According to political commentators who keep an eye on the politics of Rajasthan, even now if there is any most powerful leader in the state, it is Raje. People believe that even today he has the ability to make the party win more than 100 seats in Rajasthan. However, BJP is not declaring the chief ministerial face in any state in this year’s assembly elections. This is his new election strategy. In such a situation, it would be too early to talk about Vasundhara being ignored. There are speculations that if BJP returns to power in the state, then despite all the internal turmoil, Vasundhara will be given the command of the state.
