The Chief Minister said that the enemy forces of the state were ready to falsely portray Punjabis as drug addicts so as to present a wrong picture of the state before the country. He said that Punjab has been the sword of the country for centuries and is called the food provider state of the country, but ignoring this great contribution of Punjabis, some political parties are doing cheap propaganda by accusing the true sons of being drug addicts. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now Punjab has started an all-out fight against drugs, which was started by offering ardas from Sri Harmandar Sahib in the holy city of Amritsar. The Chief Minister said, “We need to count the martyrs of Punjab. There is no need to do this because there are marks of these heroes on the soil of every village of Punjab.” He said that every bit of this holy land has been touched by the feet of the great Guru Sahiban, saints, great men, saints, prophets and martyrs. . Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjabis are blessed with the spirit of hard work, through which they establish their importance everywhere.
The Chief Minister said that the Punjab Government has laid great emphasis on promoting sports in the state, due to which the immense energy of the youth is being channelized in a positive direction. He said that for the first time, the state government has given funds to the players for their preparation for the games, so that they can achieve achievements in the sports competitions. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that as a result of this, Punjabis have won 19 medals in the recently concluded Asian Games, which is the highest number of medals won since the inception of the Asian Games.
The state government expressed its strong commitment to channelize the unlimited energy of the youth.
The Chief Minister said that he knows very well that ‘an empty mind is the devil’s house’, hence every possible effort is being made to provide jobs to the youth, so that they remain engaged in work. He said that every year advertisements are being given for regular recruitment on 2100 posts in Punjab Police, which inspires the youth to work hard and prepare to become police officers. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjab government has launched a major crackdown against drugs in the state and smugglers are being put behind bars.
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great joy that people from every section of the society are taking part in this huge cycle rally. He said that this effort shows the commitment of the people to make the state a leader by eradicating social evils from Punjab. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this launch is a big step towards creating ‘Rangla Punjab’ in the times to come.
Paying tribute to Martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha on this historic day, the Chief Minister said that taking a pledge to further strengthen the unity, integrity and mutual brotherhood of the country on this holy day would be a true tribute to this great martyr. He said that the State Government has already declared 16th November as gazetted holiday every year on the occasion of Martyrdom Day of Martyrdom Kartar Singh Sarabha. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this will help in spreading the glorious legacy of the martyr so that our future generations get inspired by his life.

The Chief Minister said that this great martyr had sacrificed his life at a young age to liberate his country from the clutches of British imperialism. He said that the martyrdom of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha inspired many more youth like Shaheed Bhagat Singh to take part in the freedom movement and sacrifice their lives for the protection of the motherland. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the people of the country will always be indebted to the great sacrifice of this martyr. He said that for the first time, the Punjab Government has hanged along with Martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha and his six other comrades, Martyr Vishnu Ganesh Pingle (Pune, Maharashtra), Martyr Jagat Singh (Taran Taran), Martyr Harnam Singh Sialkoti (Sialkot, Pakistan), Martyr Bakshish Singh (Amritsar), Shaheed Suren Singh Wadda (Amritsar) and Shaheed Suren Singh Chhota (Amritsar) are also remembered.
