The Maruti Celerio CNG will be the first car to be available for retail among the Maruti Suzuki cars to be launched in India this year. Although the company has not yet revealed any exact launch date, but according to a report, the price of the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG in India will be announced in January this month. If reports are to be believed, it is also being heard that Maruti dealerships have started informally booking pre-orders for the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG. This means that the automaker is yet to officially start order booking for the upcoming Maruti Suzuki car. Some of the company’s dealerships across the country are taking bookings for Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG with a token amount of Rs 11,000.
How will the engine be?
Maruti Suzuki launched the new-gen Celerio in November 2021, which means the popular hatchback in India has been completely redesigned. The case is that the new Celerio CNG will also be based on the same model as the Celerio petrol hatchback. The new CNG model will also get the same engine as the standard Celerio. That is, it will also get a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 66 bhp and 89 Nm of torque. As far as transmission options are concerned, the Celerio CNG will only be offered with a five-speed gearbox.
Higher average than petrol version
It is to be noted that the Maruti Celerio CNG will come with a factory-fitted CNG kit and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki car in India will offer better fuel-efficiency than the petrol-powered model. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio petrol model is currently the most fuel efficient vehicle in India, giving a mileage of 26.68 kmpl. However, the CNG model is expected to have an estimated fuel efficiency figure of around 30 km/kg.
