grandson shared the picture of the car
On the occasion of Lal Bahadur Shastri’s 118th birth anniversary, his grandson Vibhakar Shastri shared a photo of an old car on Twitter and wrote that my grandfather had bought this car by taking a loan of Rs 5000 from the bank. After his death, his wife Lalita Shastri paid off the loan from his pension money. The picture shared by Vibhakar Shastri itself tells a different story of Shastri ji’s simplicity that despite being the Prime Minister, he could not repay the money for the car he bought by taking a loan and his pension money was used to repay the loan.

Let us tell you that Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on 2 October in the year 1904. Between 1964 and 1966, he became the second Prime Minister of independent India. Prior to this, he held the charge of Home Minister from 1961 to 1963. He started the White Revolution to increase the production of milk across the country. He also called for Green Revolution to increase the production of food grains. After this, there was a significant increase in the production of food grains in states like Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Lal Bahadur Shastri died under suspicious circumstances on January 11 in 1966 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
