Nifty started the week with a slight decline and it opened with a fall of about 20 points. But then it remained in the positive zone for the whole day and closed with a gain of 54 points or 0.29 percent. Not only this, it remained at the level of 18300. Meanwhile, the Sensex closed with a gain of 86 points. Broader markets also remained in the positive zone. Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap also closed with gains of 0.16% and 0.60%, respectively.
Auto stocks outperformed the market. Nifty Auto rose nearly two per cent while banking indices, pharma and IT indices closed with a fall. Hiromoto Corp and Grasim Industries were the top gainers in Nifty stocks, while HCL Tech and HDFC Bank fell over five per cent. The market continued to rally without any major downside. A positive trend in the broader market led some stocks to take part in the rally, retracing from their lows of the day. It is clear from this that these stocks are in a strong zone and they are expected to remain bullish tomorrow as well.
The stocks that recovered from the day’s low are as follows.
